Description

Since its emergence, research in Information Systems (IS) has been marked by a historical questioning of its recognition as a scientific discipline (Baskerville & Myers, 2002). This quest for recognition has led it to explore its fundamental nature and influences (Jeyaraj & Zadeh, 2020; Sarker et al., 2019), as well as to define or redefine its boundaries (Pratt et al., 2012; Tarafdar & Davison, 2018). This workshop will explore the relationships of IS with connected disciplines such as Human-Computer Interaction (Zhang & Li, 2004) and present the diversity of genres. Relevant methods such as bibliometrics (Baudet et al., 2023; Walsh & Renaud, 2017; Walsh et al., 2022; Walsh & Rowe, 2023) and AI-based tools (Wagner et al., 2021) will be presented and used in practice. Perspectives from senior, early-to-mid-career, and junior researchers will be exposed.
