Overview

SCOPE

In the age of big data, always available communication, and pervasive computing, the privacy of data becomes of central importance. On the one hand, privacy is a human right, which must be guarded by legal and organizational measures. On the other hand, there are readily available technologies to support and maintain privacy, which are not yet deployed in practice.

This two-day seminar provides an introduction to the legal and technical foundations of data protection law and technologies. Speakers from academia and industry will cover legal, organizational, technological and cryptographic aspects. The intended audience are doctoral students of CUSO Informatique, especially those working in information security and related areas. A mini-symposium for the presentation of relevant research projects will also be part of the event.

CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS

Seminar participants are encouraged to submit a proposal for a short presentation (10-15min) of a current research topic. Proposals in the form of a brief abstract (text only) should be submitted until March 22 by email to: **[email protected]** with subject **CUSO Seminar**.
