Description | Spatio-temporal data are complex unstructured data types that generally exhibit numerous difficult features like heterogeneity and uncertainty. Yet they are ubiquitous in practice (e.g. migrant flows, geo-statistical data, people's movements in public spaces, etc.). Visualizing them effectively for practical applications poses many open challenges, including distortion, overplotting, non-uniformity and uncertainty representation. The aim of this course is to present the state-of-the-art of research and applications in interactive visualization of spatio-temporal data. The course will be tutored by Daniel Keim and Jo Wood, whose expertise and experiences cover both the practical and theoretical angles. |
