User Empowerment in the Internet of Things

The Web 2.0 as a platform facilitates participation in service creation with its ease of use. Yet the Web is a resource oriented architecture and needs design frameworks in order to guide development of Internet of things platforms. We are defining a design framework covering the issue of large number of heterogeneous devices scattered on different geographical positions and interacting with people and services. This approach has advantage to encompass the context of service creation and usage. It treats particularly empowerment of all actors in the Internet of things covering the social context and interactions with physical and virtual environments.
