Behaviour Change Technology to Support Job Seekers

My research focuses on building digital tools to help job seekers overcome the challenges of unemployment. In particular, the goal is to design and implement technical interventions to support job seekers get through the unemployment spell with the help of interview training and feedback. Since these training methodologies are typically manual and require tremendous human effort, it can become expensive and relies on the availability of qualified practitioners in the area. Unemployment is also often associated with social stigma involving social pressure to meet the expectations of peers and friends. This might refrain the job seekers from evaluating/training with help from human experts or peers. This issue can be addressed by developing automated self-reflection tools with minimal human intervention thereby creating a comfortable and stigma-free environment. The goal of my research would be to provide this training and feedback in an automated way leveraging data-driven approaches through the advanced techniques of Artificial Intelligence like Natural Language Processing and Computer Vision.
