Information about damaged areas and the status of critical infrastructures are essential in the aftermath of a crisis situation such as flooding or earthquakes. This information is needed to efficiently coordinate the emergency response. This seminar presents AI and crowdsourcing methods applied to extract and validate information from large sources of data such as social media. It provides a comprehensive overview of the current challenges and the potential impact of AI and crowdsourcing methods in the field of operational crisis response.
