Farm Data Management and services for Sustainable Agriculture in Tanzania

My PhD study project intends to develop farm data management and services for sustainable agriculture development in Tanzania. The system aims to remove many barriers related to the lack of information for better decision making to different actors in the agriculture value chain. The system will provide necessary information for the benefit of farmers and service providers in the farmer ecosystem. Farmers will get information on certified farm implements service providers, subsidies, financial sources, and product market. On the other end, insurance and financial institutions will have the opportunity to support farmers without much risk of loans. They will have access to all information about the farmer, such as location, farm size, farmer identity, ability to repay loans, etc.
